When it comes to quickly popping up to the shops or running errands it can be easy to throw on some tracksuit pants and call it day.
However, there’s always the risk of running into someone you know or perhaps even someone you have once dated. Been there. Done that. Thus, subsequently learnt my lesson the hard way that it is important to always look put together and polished… even on those casual days.
Now that’s not to say that I don’t tear everything off and jump straight back into my comfortable clothes the moment I arrive home. I am just trying to make an increased effort when out and about. The problem is when you have to run errands, you just want to throw on something quick and simple whilst looking as though you haven’t gone to too much effort. So with that said less is more.
Admittedly, it can also be somewhat of an annoyance to pull a cohesive outfit together when you’re more concerned with crossing the items off your growing to do list. The trick is to always have a go to ensemble of understated staples that can easily be thrown on quickly.
Little things like stepping out even casually with intention and attention paid to your outfit will do wonders for how you feel about yourself. For me personally taking that extra 2 mins to change into my go to errand ensembles increases my productivity, confidence and even how I walk.
So to keep things simple and fuss free all you need to do is rely on the following uniform when running errands.
Pour into a relaxed fitting pair of jeans that screams comfort yet understated chic
Pair with a loose fitting neutral jumper
Accessorise with statement earrings and a clutch to keep the look low key and functional yet sophisticated
Compliment the ensemble’s effortless aesthetic with either sneakers or flat sandals
Extend your errand ensemble all year round with the addition of a long black blazer crafted from wool
Trust me, you will thank me when you run into that certain someone.
