What I Wore | Polo By The Beach

As someone who has always had a love affair with horses this passion extends to the polo a sport which captured my attention circa Pretty Women and during my expat days in Dubai. The fashion, the sportsmanship and these noble animals make it a day out everyone needs to experience at least once.

The question for many is what to wear and call me pedantic but I am stickler for rules when it comes to fashions on the field. That means if it’s appropriate for the club it should stay there. When it comes to the dress think laces, whites, florals, pastels all with an appropriate hemline. For headwear leave the fascinator at home and opt for a straw hat to maximise sun protection or pull your hair back with a beautiful scarf. Lastly, let’s talk shoes. Dress for comfort and practicality. As you will most likely be standing on grass or taking part in the traditional divot stomping opt for wedges, flats or shoes with a thick heel to avoid unwanted sinking. Your feet will thank you later.

Personally when it comes to organising my outfits for events I look to my favourite online boutique Glam Corner. Due to my penchant for wearing dresses once I prefer to hire my dress rather than purchase one and have it sit in my wardrobe forevermore. With more than 5,000 of the latest dresses from over 150 top international and local designers, ranging from size 6 to 24, Glam Corner has something for everyone at incredibly affordable prices. I am beyond obsessed with their range and continue to be impressed with their quick and professional service.

Rent. Wear. Return.
