With their strong brand identity and unwavering aesthetic Zimmermann has achieved cult status in Australia and the momentum continues to build globally. With regular showings at New York Fashion Week and the recent launch of their third store in the Big Apple, Zimmermann is the living embodiment of Frank Sinatra’s famous lyrics from New York, New York.

If I can make it there. I’ll make it anywhere.

What is most inspiring about Zimmermann’s story are their humble beginnings. Founded by powerhouse duo Nicky and Simone Zimmermann premiered their designs at local markets in Sydney and to now consistently be taking #NYFW by storm they are not only a representation of Australian talent but hard work and dedication. Most importantly as “they wake up in a city that never sleeps and find they’re number one, top of the list” they have continued to exercise design integrity. This is a brand that knows their client, their foundations and this strong sense of self has remained unaffected and left the consumer wanting more.

On September 10 2019, Zimmermann debuted their Spring 2020 collection, Wavelength, and left me running to burn my winter wardrobe in preparation for warmer weather. Featured were the hues of summer, inspired by sunsets, the beach, to my favourite vibrant whites featured here, it left me feeling somewhat nostalgic. Unsurprisingly, this longing for the carefree seasons of childhood was the inspiration behind the collection and it resonated. I was left craving the endless summer days of the nineties where the scent of Australia during this time is so distinct yet nondescript.

In short, the collection made me proud to be Australian given the label has achieved so much and blessed to be Australian at the same time as it reminded me how sacred those days really were.

So start spreadin’ the news Zimmermann is here to stay.
